In depth

Verdict

Captain Simon was backed into favouritism when disappointing on his seasonal return and it will be interesting to see if money comes again for the Skelton inmate who has yet to sparkle since landing a 2017 bumper. It's still early days with him though and he remains of interest. VISAGE BLANC has shown improved form in two starts since wind surgery and if he can run close to the level of his latest outing when inched out in a Southwell handicap, then he'd be the one to beat. His stable is ticking along very nicely at present. Atlanta's Gold is a shortlist must after a battling Towcester success and more can be expected of the Moore charge after just five starts over timber and with James Bowen booked. Rocket Ronnie has place claims with the champion jockey a rare booking for the yard.
