In depth

Verdict

Three of the last four renewals have gone to UK-trained horses and Graignes, the only French representative today, was third behind Sporting Chance in a Group 3 over track and trip last time. The latter has leading claims again but QUEEN OF BERMUDA may just edge this. William Haggas’ filly found life tough in the Group 1 Cheveley Park at Newmarket a fortnight ago but won a Group 3 sprint at Ayr before that. An earlier length defeat by Soldier’s Call at Chantilly also gives her the beating of Legends Of War, Junius Brutus and Little Kim on collateral form and she has her favoured ground. Kevin Ryan sent out the winner back in 2009 and maiden winner Hello Youmzain steps up in class along with Amplify, who beat three subsequent winners when runner-up in novice company at Ascot back in May.
