Gentlemans Relish has leading claims in this company and can follow up, with Mullensgrove, Phoenix Flyer and Twilight Dancer the ones to perhaps give him most to do. Experience over fences counts for a lot, and with that in mind, Gentlemans Relish should be capable of adding to his recent Leicester victory in which he got the better of a sustained battle with Mr Splodge. The rider of the latter that day, James Tudor, was obviously impressed as he now switches to the selection, and with the two and a half mile trip in his favour, Gentlemans Relish is the one to be on. Our confidence is also boosted by the fact that the form of his previous fourth at Sandown has worked out well, with the third home Red Brook Lad obliging since. That Sandown contest was run in a good time as well. Mullensgrove beat Phoenix Flyer 25 lengths in this race last year, but has lacked his old sparkle this term, while the latter has been confined to point-to-points and was a beaten favourite at Black Forest Lodge last time. The switch back to fences may rekindle his enthusiasm, but he still looks to have it to do. Twilight Dancer has been in great form between the flags, and this one-time Milton Bradley inmate has the assistance of regular pilot Fiona Wilson. At the age of seven, he has the scope to progress in hunter-chase company and can go well against mainly exposed rivals. However, he will do well to beat Gentlemans Relish who has plenty going for him.
