In depth

Verdict

DUNE SHINE showed the best form available here on his first start and is taken to build on that with a win, while Lady Karinga and Carribs Leap are respected. The last-named represents the trainer-jockey combination of Charlie Egerton and Tony McCoy, and has to be taken seriously after an Irish point win a year ago. He acts with cut and won't be stopping at the business end, although his fitness has to be taken on trust. Lady Karinga ran green but stayed on well to make the frame at Ffos Las last month and looks likely to improve for the experience, so could get involved. Poppy Lee Brown is another who showed up well on debut at the stiff Towcester circuit and this extra quarter-of-a-mile will do no harm. Cut suits and she could have a big say. Even so, preference is for Dune Shine. Oliver Sherwood's gelding was beaten just three lengths into third here on debut in November. He has been given time to come on for that, and with the ground to suit again today he can come good.
