Joseph O'Brien won the first running of this a year ago and MONTY'S WAY looked a nice prospect when comfortably landing a Roscommon maiden over this trip. An opening mark of 80 looks fair for his handicap debut and Mikey Sheehy's claim is a bonus. Phoenix Cowboy looked one to follow after his victory at Gowran and didn't get the run of the race in a premier handicap at Leopardstown. Port Sunlight, narrowly beaten in two handicaps, found Listed company too much for her at Leopardstown and this is her level while the consistent Pachmena has been beaten several times off lower marks but ran a cracking race behind the in-form Pineapple Express at the Curragh. Timourid appeared transformed by first-time blinkers at Clonmel while Protagonist didn't get the run of the race at Galway after scoring at Fairyhouse.
