Wellforth makes a swift reappearance after fading close home in the Kerry National on Wednesday but will struggle to give weight to his four rivals. Last year's winner FINGER ONTHE PULSE may still have enough ability to end the winning run of Kalellshan. Tom Taaffe's 11-year-old was far from disgraced on his latest start at Galway and generally competes at a higher level. Kalellshan has done nothing wrong, however, though this will be his first appearance on genuinely heavy ground while Northern Alliance will probably need this. Shakervilz was only beaten half-a-length over 3m at Kilbeggan on his reappearance and will strip fitter here, though has a little bit to find on official ratings.
