Verdict

Moonovercloon went up 9lb for a comfortable victory at Sligo but was disputing the lead when falling at the last here on Monday. The versatile Macgiloney won this last year from the same mark though Daniel King claims 2lb less. Dorans River has won three of his last four and, though carrying a 7lb penalty for last week's Ballinrobe victory, his rider can claim an extra 2lb. He could only finish third on that track earlier when the improving Mister Beeton finished runner-up and the latter can confirm the form. Foxfire Glow is improving at a rate of knots and an opening mark of 121 doesn't look excessive but Scarpia is having his first start since moving from Nicky Henderson. Call The Tune had been chasing but reverted to hurdles with an excellent run in a Galway handicap though the vote in an open race goes to HAND OVER FIST, who completed a double in very good style at Roscommon and is still on the upgrade.
