Verdict

Aghaboy, beaten a neck by Pepsiwithacap at Killarney on his hurdling debut, scrambled home when long odds-on at Ballinrobe just over a week ago with Arch Enemy nine lengths behind. Surac made a winning debut on the latter track but was beaten nine lengths behind The Insider at Down Royal and a 4lb pull is unlikely to reverse the form. The winner, who was very moderate on the Flat, will take some stopping but COMMON PRACTICE was a much better performer on the level having won a Curragh handicap in the summer and receives weight so gets the vote to make a successful hurdling bow. Tory Reel overcame several mistakes to make a winning start at Tipperary so can be expected to improve while Gavin Cromwell's French import Pont Audemer, a winner over a mile in May, is another to note.
