Verdict

Rogue Angel, who won this in 2015 when trained by Mouse Morris, is only a reserve here but has been well supported ante-post and it would be no great shock if he took his place in the line-up. He looks to have been prepared for the race after a very good second to stable companion Timiyan at Kilbeggan and Gordon Elliott has won this lucrative prize for the past two years. The yard is also represented by joint top weight Jury Duty, who ran a superb race when third in the Galway Plate where he was staying on over the shorter trip. SNOW FALCON, who was around four lengths back in fourth in the Plate, made a bad mistake early in the contest which stopped him in his tracks. He was staying on strongly in the latter stages and is taken to gain compensation. Willie Mullins has four entries with Blazer, who ran a superb race in the Galway Hurdle, possibly the best of them though Barry Geraghty could have chosen him but goes for Slowmotion, who was behind the selection at Galway. David Pipe sends recent Uttoxeter hurdles winner Dell' Arca from the UK and he's since shown his versatility by scoring on the Flat. Last year's third Bay Of Freedom is another to consider in a typically wide-open renewal.
