behind, carried wide bend 2f out, never on terms

held up and behind, hung right bend 2f out, ran on but never able to challenge
prominent, ridden and headway halfway, kept on final furlong, no impression on winner
chased leaders, ridden and one-paced final furlong
led 1f, led again over 2f out, soon headed and weakened inside final furlong
led after 1f until over 2f out, weakened
soon tailed off in rear
Both Cheeney Basin and The Scaffolder have shown their best form on the fibresand and it will be interesting to see how they handle this faster surface. The former does at least handle fast ground and may come out best of that pair. So Sober, wouldn't be without a chance at his best, but this looks best left to Mr Stylish, who would be giving weight away if this was a handicap.
