Verdict

GALLANTRY dropped a big hint last week and he should be capable of seeing off Prince Of Thebes and Hereford Boy. The selection was tried under much more positive tactics at Kempton last week and almost looked to have the measure of his field before going down close home. There should be a genuine pace on today and that suits Paul Howling's gelding. Prince Of Thebes has been a credit to connections of late. Expect to see him adopt his now customary front runners role. Strictly on the formbook, he is held by Hereford Boy on their meeting of 3 January at Kempton but that circuit is right handed while this is left. Justcallmehandsome gets on well with Billy Cray. The handicapper seems not to have left much to chance these days. Rapid City has his second start for the in-form David Evans yard. El Libertador has run well at this track in the past though is yet to put any figures into the win column as yet. Gallantry has been expensive to follow but if he has turned the corner, he may prove to be well handicapped at present.
