In depth

Verdict

The market may prove informative here, but a chance is taken with Blue Monkey over the likes of Oscar Snowman, Henry The Seventh, and newcomers Whodunit and Storybook. Blue Monkey has a little bit of experience to call on, his latest effort being a notable effort here a fortnight ago when a close third on what was his first outing in over three months. He was brought with a run up the far rail by his apprentice rider, but just failed to get there on what was generally considered to be a slow strip of ground that day, and as he is now drawn wider in stall 10, Michael Bell's charge is taken to improve enough to open his account. Oscar Snowman is well related on the dam's side and makes his all-weather bow, but is passed over on his return to action, while Henry The Seventh is already starting to look exposed. Any support for either Whodunit or Storybook would be interesting, given their connections, but for the winner we return to Blue Monkey.
