HUNTERS STEP made a winning debut for Henry Spiller's yard when scoring at Chelmsford last week. Today’s headgear may bring about further improvement and he makes more appeal than Mercurist. The latter only won a classified event at Wolverhampton before returning a losing favourite back in handicap company here when behind fourth-placed Maazel. Mrs Benson went close at Kempton between her more usual moderate efforts while Broughtons Flare and Act Of Magic have switched yards with the former the more favourably handicapped.
