A very ordinary maiden that can go to Red Chairman, who is selected in preference to The Plainsman and Wembury Point, who should be capable of going close in this company. The last named hails from a yard that have gone through a lean spell but recent results have been encouraging. The son of Monashee Mountain is one to monitor carefully in the betting. The Plainsman was a cheap purchase as a foal but has already given his connections a fair bit of entertainment in low-grade company since last June. He has at least repaid his purchase price (¿1,000) with place-money and he can make the frame again today. Another to have a look at is Palace Walk, who tries a mile and half for the first time this afternoon. The Sinndar colt took on some fair company as a juvenile but was always going to struggle over inadequate distances. He does have improvement to find but will surely be helped by the trip. However, Red Chairman has also shaped as he needs a little further and, with his form being far more solid, he looks the logical choice at this stage of their development.
