In depth

Verdict

Berkshire Boy is becoming hard to assess as his two successes in his last seven starts have been punctuated by some apparently dreadful efforts as evinced by a cosy Chepstow victory on his penultimate start being followed by a tailed-off performance at Newmarket latest. He is a leading contender if on a going day. Algam could need the run but REBEL ASSAULT not only showed more latest but is now down to a career-low mark. She is also not overly reliable either but is taken to score with conditions in her favour. Sea Fox and Horsted Keynes came home third and fifth in a six-runner handicap over the weekend and are preferred in that order. Both have looked in the grip of the handicapper still but this does represent a good opportunity for the former in this small field and he rates the danger.
