In the second division of the maiden, we will side with Miss Brush but, Verite, Figjam, Croft, Allsussedup and Nawayear are others to consider. Miss Brush, who cost only 800 guineas, showed promise when second on her Wolverhampton debut and, even though the form probably equates to around the 60 mark, that is good enough to play a part here. Verite's form is on a par with that, and he hasn't been beaten too far in his two races to date, while Figjam, who cost 15,000 guineas, is surely better than his down-the-field Chester effort suggested. Jon Hills has been among the winners of late and his 18,000 guineas purchase, Croft, is another to consider, but Cold Cure needs to improve on his debut effort to feature, and Bay Diamond finished three-quarters of a length behind him in that race. It is hard to fancy Supreme Kiss based on her debut run, although she showed a modicum of promise there, Allsussedup showed some improvement last time over course and distance and is not entirely out of things, and, from the Marcus Tregoning stable, Nawayear has to be considered. But, for us, unless the betting suggests radically otherwise, we will side with Miss Brush.
