Master The World won the Listed Churchill Stakes over track and trip on his penultimate start and beat last year’s winner Battalion, Mia Tesoro and Petite Jack in the process. The latter went on to finish just ahead of INTERN (NAP) when runner-up back here but David Simcock’s new charge was having his first start since June. He gets the nod on his second in Sandown’s Classic Trial earlier in the year and is preferred to another with plenty of scope in Utmost. The Gosden colt was beaten in Listed company in France last month but makes more appeal than Red Label, a winner in Ireland and placed in a Group 3 in Italy in October having subsequently joined Marco Botti. This year’s Cambridgeshire winner Dolphin Vista is upped in class but Not So Sleepy hasn’t won since 2015.
