In depth

Verdict

Ashgreen lines up in fair form and can prevail over Onyourheadbeit, Stormy Skye and Notanotherdonkey. Ashgreen has won two of his last three outings, at Towcester and Hereford, overcoming an eight-month absence on the first occasion. He was basically disappointing last term, but seems a different animal now judged on those latest efforts, and is still well enough handicapped. Sam Thomas takes over again from the amateur who rode him to victory last time, and with the trip and ground both in his favour, he should take the beating. Onyourheadbeit always seemed to find one too good last term but stayed on well on his return to action in soft ground at Haydock, so can be prominent at least. Stormy Skye made a winning comeback at Lingfield at the end of October and should not be too inconvenienced by his rise, while Notanotherdonkey is only five and got over the Cheltenham fences when second on his chase debut. He is another worth a mention at least, but Ashgreen has more going for him than most here and can notch up another win this term
