In depth
Verdict
Aventura showed plenty of promise on his debut only four days ago and, if this race does not come too soon, should run well. Claptrap is a half-brother to Young Ern and Young Un, showed promise on his debut over course and distance (Empress Josephine ahead of him in seventh) and Richard Hughes has been booked. Drixos takes a big step back in trip and is hard to fancy. Zak Facta, bred for dirt on his dam's side, could improve for his Newmarket debut. Calbrae has solid form, a good draw but she now steps back in trip. However, bare form gives her claims. It is hard to say whether the drop to five furlongs will suit Compton Emerald, who has shown promise in two seven-furlong starts. Pray Silence has plenty of speed in her pedigree but, as this is her debut, others might be sharper. Not a straightforward race to make a selection, but Aventura, promising in a race that should produce winners, is given the TEAMtalk selection.
