Jahangir gets the vote here over Cayman Breeze, Lord Melbourne and Ivory Venture in the claimer. Jahangir is still a maiden who has steadily slipped down the ratings over the past two years, and could be the answer after his eyecatching effort here last week. Having his first outing since running over hurdles in November, the five-year-old looked to have things sewn up as he was sent into an early lead, but started to tire inside the final furlong and eventually finished third to Miss Peaches. It is hoped that the drop back in distance will help him to finally visit the winner's enclosure and he should go close. Cayman Breeze was sent off as favourite for a seller last week but did not find a great deal when asked to go about his business and is opposed for that reason. Dual course and distance scorer Lord Melbourne would take the beating if able to reproduce the second of those two wins here, but has been beaten three times since, and was well down the field on his latest start. That hardly inspires confidence, and of the others, only Ivory Venture can be given a chance, although he will almost certainly find this step up in trip too hard despite the fact that he ran on close home when opening his account over the minimum here seven days ago. So, a small wager on Jahangir is the suggestion.
