In depth

Verdict

Brownsea Brink scored three times over a mile last year and Purcell won a couple of races over 6f last season. Both return to action today along with Heavy Metal, who hasn't won a race since landing the Richmond Stakes as a two-year-old. CORPORAL MADDOX has the more recent form having won over course and distance last month and going close again when third at Kempton on Monday. He's preferred to Forceful Appeal, who is upped 6lb for his latest victory over track and trip, while Bravo Echo still looks in the handicapper's grip.
