Verdict
Something of a statistical oddity as we have a bumper on the all-weather circuit to complete Saturday's proceedings. Deep Reflection won his last race on this surface and has to be respected in spite of his penalty, but we shall side with Son Of Samson. Son Of Samson is an out-and-out flat bred who cost 95000 guineas as a yearling. A son of Diesis and out of a dam who won the Park Hill Stakes, this really looks to be high octane breeding at this level. Trafalgar Night is a full brother to useful chaser Frenchmans Creek and is accordingly watched in the market. Dr Flight is in receipt of all the allowances and is partnered by Mick Fitzgerald. Of the remainder, Warlord brings some interesting form to the race. He was seen staying on stoutly behind the useful Pepperoni Pete at Wincanton. He, as many, will only be able to answer the questions as to whether he handles the surface by taking part. A difficult one for punters as they try to equate formbook knowledge with potential and market activity. Son Of Samson is recommended to only minimal stakes.
