Plenty of these come into the race with chances and Northside Lodge is only a tentative choice over old rival JR Stevenson and Labrett, although it will be very interesting to see how Scotty's Future fares on his first start for David Loder. He will no doubt be placed to good effect once it becomes apparent just how much enthusiasm he still retains. Of the rest, Labrett is always dangerous to rule out and is still unexposed at this trip. However, he always needs luck in running and has to conclusively prove his stamina today. In contrast, Traveling Band, returns to the Flat in a bid to keep him ticking over after failing to live up to his early promise over hurdles over Christmas. It is too early to give up on him in that sphere but he may find at least one more determined over this sort of trip today. That rival could well be Northside Lodge, who is much better than his wins-to-runs ratio would suggest. The six-year-old ran a good race in defeat over course and distance when he was last seen out and has plenty in his favour for another bold show today.
