In depth

Verdict

A winner on the Polytrack, PIVOTAL SILENCE passed the post first at Newbury last week but was disqualified for interference. Amanda Perrett's filly races off the same mark today and can take this as a consolation. A longer trip of 1m6f and the soft ground at Nottingham were legitimate excuses for Gabrial The Duke's recent poor effort and he has solid claims in this as does recent Beverley third Mirth. Handsome Stranger won a seller last week but the lightly-raced Chocolate Block makes more appeal stepping up in trip having won here on her handicap debut.
