In depth

Verdict

CHAMPAGNE CHASER was caught by a couple of rivals in the closing stages at Ludlow last time when beaten less than a length. He can gain compensation in this reunited with Richard Johnson, who won on Tim Vaughan’s charge at Huntingdon last year. Burgess Dream won off a lower mark over track and trip last month but failed to cope with an easy winner back over fences last time but Lac Sacre looks closer to ending a long losing run after a third at Taunton recently. The Mumper reverts to hurdling off a 8lb lower mark having won twice over fences last year and could go well.
