In depth

Verdict

The market should give an indication to the chances of the two newcomers Ramprakash and Bahamian Bliss but they will need to be useful to get the better of Orientalist Art, who gets the vote. The selection ran a race full of promise on his debut when finding just Paul Cole's Luck Money too good in a big field Newmarket maiden in May. An absence since then is of some concern for Peter Chapple-Hyam's colt but the son of Green Desert looks different class to his rivals here judged by that effort and looks worth chancing on his reappearance. Clive Brittain's Atheer Dubai has shown a decent level of form and should be thereabouts as should Mark Johnston's Silent Master, who is a consistent performer. The Lady Herries-trained Thermidor showed some promise when last seen in September and has to be respected but preference is for Orientalist Art who could be just too good.
