Summery gets a tentative vote to make a winning debut on the surface, with Pancakehill, Doris Souter and Mush the most obvious dangers. Brian Meehan's filly made no show on her handicap debut at Warwick, but has been dropped three pounds since then and had earlier shown enough in maidens to suggest she is capable of winning a race off this mark. The booking of Kieren Fallon gives us added confidence. Doris Souter has form on both turf and sand, and was noted running on nicely when fourth the last time she was at Lingfield, so she seems sure to appreciate this extra furlong. Pancakehill is a consistent filly, who has been placed a number of times on sand, but looks a hard horse to win with and may again have to settle for minor honours at best. A bigger danger is likely to be Mush, who rarely runs a bad race and is back over the course and distance he won on back in February, having run well over seven furlongs in his two subsequent starts. On just a 4lb higher mark than that last win, he seems sure to go close.
