        Verdict

        EBERT is clear at the weights and gets the confident vote over Rapid City and Barodine. Richard Fahey's gelding only has the one win to his name from 18 starts, but he has some very decent handicap form from 2007 when trained by Peter Makin. His recent third in claiming company wasn't a bad effort at the weights and he should be good enough to take this. Rapid City is a course winner over shorter; he hasn't tried this trip since joining Alan McCabe and it will be interesting to see whether he runs better than last time where he was an abject failure. The weights don't favour him and they also don't make things easy for Barodine. He has to give 3lbs to the selection and while he does have some ability, his win record of one in 30 makes scary reading. At a price the unexposed Indiana Fox could improve with the first-time blinkers applied, however it is Ebert who can win.
