The step up in trip will suit MAGISTRATE and he is narrowly preferred to Sure Fire and Kinetix. The last-named is likely to be the favourite with an official rating of 71 and some solid efforts in defeat to her name. However she doesn't look one to trust implicitly and if she comes off the bridle then supporters may have cause for concern. Instead then we will take a chance on Magistrate who represents a yard in fair form. He shaped with promise over an extended mile at Wolverhampton last time out and looks likely to improve now tried over this longer trip. French Hollow is another runner who has experience on the bumper scene; he was a distant third at Catterick on his flat debut but cannot be underestimated here with Neil Callan a good jockey booking. Sure Fire started as the 11/10 favourite on his bumper debut at Plumpton last month and had evidently been impressing at home. His performance on the track was not quite so impressive but the drop in trip should suit and he represents very shrewd connections. Starburst has a rating of 57 and has been exposed as modest, whilst Red Hot Desert looks likely to improve further for the slightly longer trip today and he looks a player. Not a race that will take much winning and the vote goes to Magistrate.
