In depth

Verdict

Stefanki is the obvious potential improver but he is flattered by his official rating; preference is for TUSCAN KING who is not straightforward but at least knows how to win in this sort of grade. David Evans' gelding was a tad disappointing at Wolverhampton last time out but his previous effort behind Ana Moutabahi reads well. The slight drop in trip today won't be a problem and he gets the nod. Stefanki could be chucked in at the weights as he receives 5lb from the selection yet is rated 4lb higher, however the feeling is that he is yet to run up to that sort of level. He has been well-held in two maiden runs since a promising effort on debut at Ffos Las, and he has stamina to prove although his pedigree suggests it will be fine. Underworld Dandy looks modest, Better Be Blue steps up in trip, whilst blinkers are tried on the consistent Brenda Duke. Mena RI is quickly dropped in grade, but this can go to Tuscan King.
