Blinkers may improve Captain Mainwaring but preference is for ZALKANI ahead of William's Way and King's Majesty. Now nine years of age, the selection comes here on the back of some fair efforts at the track. The step back up in trip is expected to be in his favour and although his mark of 60 looks high enough, he can eek out one more win for an in-form stable. Capitalise is another course and distance winner, but recent efforts haven't been good, so of more interest may be William's Way and King's Majesty. Both have won at the track and are unlikely to be far away at a course that suits. Spume needs watching in the betting, along with the Peter Bowen-trained Saloon who has been off the track for three months and this well-bred gelding must be of some interest. Ardmaddy is another for consideration in a tricky finale, but the vote goes to Zalkani.
