PERIPHERY stands out in this. The Godolphin colt returned to action with a decent effort at Newmarket when third to Cogito and that form is good enough to win a maiden at this level. It's certainly better than anything achieved by today's rivals as the likes of Authoritarian and Shatter have both been well beaten so far and Extremely Alert finished nearer last than first on his debut at Yarmouth. But Byton showed a glimpse of promise at Windsor last August, as did Poisson D'Or at Salisbury in the same month, while the newcomer Dutch Old Master is worth a second glance given he can boast five winning relatives including the useful Triple Aspect.
