Dark Shah, two lengths fourth to Piccatune at Chepstow last month on his nursery debut, heads the weights for this contest and from stall 20 has to be respected with any further rain likely to suit. The same cannot be said of his stablemate Southampton Joe, who ran below par when previously seen on a soft surface. Burmese Princess disappointed first time in this grade at Goodwood recently, as did Head Of College at Newbury last time. In a competitive event the best bet, and the TEAMtalk selection, is Richard Hannon's Meelup. Well treated with the topweight on running in a Chepstow maiden last month, the son of Night Shift should handle any cut in the ground and, although there are doubts concerning the form of the Hannon horses, he looks worth chancing.
