    Verdict

Violet's Lads, Confrerie and Mr Mac all failed to cope with a rise in the weights last time having won their penultimate starts. It remains to be seen if Rivas Rob Roy copes any better upped 6lb for scoring over track and trip but MERCURIST (NAP) looks progressive enough to defy a 7lb rise for winning at the same fixture. Rod Millman’s charge won with plenty in hand and another bold bid is expected. Cafe Milano has been in the mix over longer trips over the winter but is still looking for that elusive first win after 19 starts.
