Five Alley, Syncopated Rhythm and Up The Pub look the three to concentrate on in this novice chase with the latter named getting the nod. A winner in testing conditions at Chepstow last week Up The Pub looks the type to follow up a little sequence. He was beating a tough horse in Anflora that day who had already proved successful the time before so the form is rock solid. He should also come on for fitness and as long as this race doesn¿t come to quick he looks the most likely winner. Five Alley won at Plumpton in less testing conditions last time out but all his best form is on soft ground. He has suffered as a result though and it will be no mean feat carrying top weight around here and is therefore bypassed. Nigel Twiston-Davies has his team in great form at present and even though Syncopated Rhythm has little to shout about on his form figures it would be no surprise if he performed better than expected but for the winner we return to Up The Pub.
