    Verdict

Double M can land a poor race in which Grand View, Detonate, and Hill Of Almhuim can be considered for a place. This poor contest looks well within the scope of Double M who is on a retrieval mission after his controversial defeat at Kempton in January. The Lydia Richards-trained 10-year-old looked all set to prevail when his rider Richard Thomas eased up near the line, resulting in Must Be Keen mugging him. The trainer keeps faith with the errant pilot today, and you can be sure that there will not be a repeat, if as expected, Double M is involved in the finish again. Grand View is the old man of the party, and although successful over the course-and-distance in the past, is not able to muster enough energy these days. Detonate was not beaten far by Wiltshire at Kempton last time, but needs to find more to figure, while Hill Of Almhuim faded over seven furlongs at Kempton last month, and should at least be suited by the drop back in trip. Other than that, he is hard to fancy as well, with preference for Double M.
