Verdict
Red Socks showed a big improvement when second at Kempton on Monday, but had earlier finished well behind today's rival Royal Purse at Nottingham. The latter was runner-up on that occasion and is taken to confirm running with Gay Kelleway's charge here, though both may find TIOMAN LEGEND too good. He faded inside the final furlong behind Magic City at Newbury on his debut, but the placed horses have both won since and normal improvement can see him take this. Denton Dancer is preferred to Lady Cresta of the newcomers.
