        Verdict

        PURSER carries a penalty for a debut success at Newbury but may well be good enough back at this level having found life tough in the Group 3 Solario Stakes at Sandown last time. Masked Defender showed improvement in a maiden race at the latter track when finishing in front of Beachwalk but Conversant returned a well-beaten losing favourite at Thirsk on his introduction. Wajaaha is related to a couple of winners and preferred to Blue Candy of the newcomers.
