Ripple Effect showed enough when placed on her debut at Salisbury last term and again over course and distance in October to suggest she will be good enough to take a race of this nature. Andrew Balding has made a good start to his training career and, although the daughter of Elmaamul disappointed on her final outing last season that was on a soft surface, so she is the selection. The main danger looks to be Richard Hannon¿s Sparkling Jewel, who finished second on her only previous start over five furlongs here in May, but an absence since is a concern. David Elsworth's Bi Polar showed better form on his second start as a juvenile and could be interesting on his reappearance, as could Fanny's Fancy on the form shown at Musselburgh last September. The others make limited appeal.
