Verdict

Battle Of Marathon didn’t have much success on Turf last summer but it’s less than a year since he was placing in Group 3 and Listed races around here and he would have every chance if ready after a break. MATTERHORN has only won over a mile so far but wasn’t stopping switched to Fibresand at Southwell last month. He should stay the extra 2f back on Polytrack and is a progressive sort who can win for the fourth time in six starts this afternoon. Lexington Law stays further but has been found wanting when stepping out of Class 4 company in the past while it would take a brilliant training performance for Shargiah to win this after a 568-day absence. Breden ended last year in great form but the nine-year-old has never won off a mark this high.
