Difficult to rule any out in an intriguing contest but Mr Aviator has a favourite's chance and will do for us. Richard Hannon's progressive gelding had Ballinteni and Scamperdale in second and third when winning his penultimate start; they are 4lbs better off for one and a half lengths and 6lbs for 3 lengths respectively. Last time, he made the gambled on Philatelist pull out all the stops in the Roseberry despite losing a shoe in the race and he can gain compensation. Aside from the Kempton placed horses who have obvious claims at the weights, Luberon, Jeer and Celtic Spirit are also of keen interest. Luberon has most to prove having lost his way last season but a return to form couldn't be ruled out. Celtic Spirit is relatively unexposed and has joined a shrewd yard since his last run on the level whilst Jeer looked a decent prospect when finishing second at York in May. The market should prove useful but Mr Aviator is the solid one and they're all going to have to fly to catch him.
