Gay Kelleway's Nisr has claims on the form shown when landing a banded race at Wolverhampton two starts ago but this looks tougher for the nine-year-old and preference is for Samson Quest, who is preferred to Welsh Wind. The last mentioned is a consistent performer and is entitled to be thereabouts again but is strictly held by the selection on running over course and distance last month so may be booked for a place at best. Salinger has claims judged by official BHB ratings but has given little sign for encouragement of late, while Edge Fund is similarly out of form at present. Exit Smiling is probably best watched having unseated his rider leaving the stalls last time and of more interest may be Writ, provided that he is fit enough following a break. Samson Quest holds solid claims on recent form though and a reproduction of that may suffice.
