In what will be a good test, Stormy Skye is selected ahead of Tallow Bay, Dr Mann and River Indus. Stormy Skye is now rated 88 and is a course and distance winner from a year ago from a mark of 96. He looked to be coming back to form last time and can go well today. Tallow Bay will handle the going and is only two pounds above a winning mark from February 2006 and his Plumpton run last time suggested that he was on the way back. Ebony Jack is just a pound above a winning mark from February 2006 also, and would hold a chance on that basis. Dr Mann has been knocking at the door as he bids to find that elusive first win, while a nine-pounds rise for his Fontwell win gives Peveril Pride more to do. Finally, theoretically, River Indus is very well treated if you take his third to the very promising novice chaser Classified literally. There are, no doubt, plenty of people that will be doing just that but, for the selection, we will side with Stormy Skye.
