In depth

Verdict

LIGHTNING LOU was no match for the winner over the extended mile at Wolverhampton but finished clear of the rest. That looks the strongest form on offer and Rod Millman’s filly gets the nod to go one better. Fairy Cakes and Cordarosa fared less well upped to today’s trip last time while Desert Marathon and Petalite attempt a mile for the first time having both placed over 7f. Bumper and hurdles winner Diamond Gait was still well beaten when third in novice company on the Flat at Southwell.
