Verdict

SPORTING GOLD was having his first start since May when runner-up at Kempton last month. He went very close when headed at the line by Whitby Jet and Roger Varian's charge is preferred to Grand Theft Equine. The latter ran well in a maiden over track and trip last time while Frosty Friday looks next best as she usually saves her best for the Polytrack. The remainder are hard to fancy unless Dubai Story is much better than she showed on her modest debut at Wolverhampton.
