Despite looking a promising hurdler Gary Moore switches WYETH back to the level and he looks to have the best chance with Flame Creek and Gone On Ahead also given claims. The four-year-old gelding will see out this two-mile trip with a touch of disdain after staying on well under a penalty to place in a fair race over timber over an extra half mile last time. It looks as though he'll make a better national hunt horse than flat but he has already scored this season on the flat over a slightly shorter trip at Bath. Still off a more than competitive mark here he should take top weight to the winner's enclosure. In comparision to the selection Flame Creek is very exposed and this is as good as he'll get. Once rated at 145 over hurdles he is now just off a mark of 58 on the flat but that is four pounds lower than his last winning mark. With that in mind he has a chance although he may prefer a bit more cut in the ground than he'll get here. Go On Ahead is another National Hunt winner after landing a bumper on his second career run. So no problems with the trip then, but recent flat form here and at Southwell has been okay at best but on these terms certainly could score but in what looks an increasingly poor contest.
