Verdict

ARCHER'S UP has been carrying penalties for his Flat victories in his races over timber and doesn't have to do so here. His placed efforts at Killarney and Kilbeggan last summer should be good enough and he's fit from the Flat. Poseidon didn't run well at Naas last time but earlier efforts here and at Punchestown put him right in the picture. Sticky Situation has been very inconsistent but had a much better day when a close third behind Hammerstein at Killarney. Tooreen Legend, six times a winner on the Flat, has reverted to hurdling after a very long break and was in the lead at this trip before weakening quickly over an extended 2m1f at Ballinrobe.
