Gallowglass stayed on strongly at Clonmel after getting outpaced though that was in very testing conditions. Champagne Paddy made a successful bumper debut at Roscommon last summer but didn't get far on his hurdling bow at Thurles in November. On His Toes showed improved form to land a Tramore bumper in October though STACEY'S PRIDE may be good enough. Charles Byrnes' mare made a very promising start in a heavy ground Listowel bumper in September and that experience can prove invaluable. Her stable companion Amicus Abu looks more of a staying type as does Gordon Elliott's newcomer Acronym, a half-brother to a winning chaser.
