In depth

Verdict

Slade Runner got no sort of run at Leopardstown last week and was heavily supported to gain compensation at Fairyhouse on Monday but appeared to get outpaced before staying on. He's still looking well in and should get into contention. Eglish completed an all-weather hat-trick earlier this year and has shot up the weights as a consequence. JM BARRIE was beaten a length by her at Dundalk in January when conceding 14lb and will be receiving weight here with jockey claims taken into consideration so looks the one to beat. Half Nutz enjoyed the soft conditions when landing a very competitive nursery at Navan in October and would be a threat if the going eases while Funny Little Ways will be looking to bounce back after last week's disappointing effort where her rider had problems with the equipment, though she's 10lb higher than her earlier Dundalk success.
