In depth

Verdict

Sharps Choice probably needed his run at Wexford but was beaten a long way and may need more experience. Hugo 'n Taz only showed moderate ability in five starts over fences but has improved over timber lately and deserves another crack at the bigger obstacles. Schmidt is another on the upgrade over hurdles and with a chaser's pedigree is one for the shortlist though it's stable companion CLASSIC THEATRE who looks the one to be on. A maiden hurdle winner in September, he ran in Grade 3 company subsequently before reappearing with a promising debut over fences at Clonmel where he was only beaten 2l. Konig Hall has been in fine form over hurdles on good ground but makes his chasing debut at an advanced age.
